OFFENSE
The Warriors are on an upward trajectory on the heels of finishing .500 for the first time since the 2020 season. Head coach Kent Jackson is expecting a roster of more than 50 players bolstered by a very talented freshman class. Anadarko will have options at quarterback. Jason Kawaykla (6-1, 185, Sr.) moves west after playing the position at Chickasha last year. Kawaykla will battle with Zane Owens (6-1, 160, So.) and Manny Botone (5-11, 160, Fr.) for playing time at the position. All three are capable of successfully running the offense. The Warriors have versatility at running back with Farris Sutteer (5-10, 200, Jr.) and Troy Pendarvis (5-9, 160, Sr.). Sutteer specializes running in between the tackles while Pendarvis is more dangerous in the open field. Napoleon Camp (6-0, 150, Sr.) is the feature wide receiver. He’s started on both sides of the football since he first stepped on the field as a freshman. Camp torched Purcell for nine catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors’ wild 45-42 win over the Dragons. Brad Neal (5-10, 255, Sr.) has the most varsity experience on the offensive line at tackle. Anadarko will also get a boost from the return of Josiah Raines (6-0, 270, Sr.) after a year away from football. Raines finished 3rd in the heavyweight division at the Class 3A state wrestling tournament.
DEFENSE
Anadarko allowed 31 points or more in its last six games in 2024 and allowed more than 40 points in three of those games. The tale of the 2025 season will likely be told by how much improvement takes place on this side of the football. Neal and Raines give the Warriors size and experience in the middle of the defense. The edge will feature Sutteer and Jantzen Kilpatrick (5-10, 220, Sr.) at end. Their presence should allow Myles Jurado (5-11, 165, Sr.) to play with reckless abandon at middle linebacker. Jurado makes up with instincts for what he lacks in size. He’s always around the football. Pendarvis doubles up at one of the other linebacker spots. Owens’ significant athletic skills will be on display at free safety, where he covers significant ground. RJ Perry (5-10, 145, Sr.) is the Warriors’ best defender in coverage at cornerback. The Warriors will fight the good fight as the smallest school in Class 3A. They have a good mix of experience with promising new faces ready to get their feet wet at the varsity level. Keep an eye on the Warriors in 2025.
