Anadarko’s Cameron Bert – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by

Anadarko junior athlete Cameron Bert spoke to VYPE recently about his sporting endeavors saying “For football I play linebacker and runner back, for basketball I’m a forward and post”. Sharing that “It means a lot to set an example of what the community of Anadarko is like and what an athlete plays like from this community”. When discussing what it takes to play multiple sports Bert told VYPE that it takes “A lot of dedication and discipline and you also have to have a good mentality”.
While some people model themselves and their game after their favorite celebrities Bert said “I don’t have a favorite person I follow on social media” instead he shared that “My biggest influence and role model would have to be my dad and my brother”. Saying “my little
brother Jayvin Bert pushes me to be the best in anything I do”. Then Bert in turn pushes his “teammates to be better and to make others around me better in general”.
Bert explained to us that whenever he plays against a team, no matter the sport, “I feel a big accomplishment” and this makes him all the more willing to put in the work to do it again. Helping him is someone Bert says he likes “working against” – Jakobi Tallent “because he plays hard and is fundamental. He’s also a smart player and I learn a lot from him”.
Although Bert’s “favorite hobbies are sports activities” he is also in “leadership” at Anadarko High School as he works toward “Earning my spot on varsity”.
