Anadarko High School sophomore Kelly Barron is a rising star in tennis for the Anadarko Warriors. She has been playing tennis for 4 years, and plays #2 Girls Doubles for the Warriors.
Kelly is proud to represent her school and community each time she picks up her tennis racker. Kelly stated, “We are the Anadarko Warriors. I am always proud to represent Anadarko Schools and play with a Warrior Spirit. I will do whatever it takes to make my school and community proud.”
Most student athletes have a favorite teacher, and this is most certainly the case for Kelly. She stated, “My favorite teacher was my dance teacher, April Kyle, taught me dance for the past 10 years. This gave me strength and confidence in myself while also showing me the power of grace and humility.”
When it comes to who her role model is, Kelly looks toward two family members. “My parents are the biggest influences in my life because they push me to work harder to become a better version of myself.”
Many memories are made as a student athlete in high school sports. Kelly reflected on the highlight of her sporting career thus far, “The highlight of my career was when my partner and I played at Regionals as Freshmen last year. We placed 6th, but we were playing against seniors. We were still able to hold our own and win several matches.”
In terms of academics, Kelly takes her courses seriously by taking honors classes of both Spanish and Applied Art.
Being only a sophomore in high school, Kelly has her sights set on high education, but has not yet determined a college or major yet. She stated, “I plan on attending college, but have not yet decided where that will be.”
A fact about Kelly that some people do not know is that she was raised on a farm. Kelly proclaimed, “Being raised on a farm has taught me that if I want to achieve something I can be proud of, it takes dedication and hard work to get it.”
