Anadarko’s Chloe Cantrell – Presented by Bank of Commerce

Being successful is something that everyone in all walks of life works hard to achieve. No matter the age, profession, or anything else, there is a certain amount of work that is required. Chloe Cantrell has worked hard to get where she is today and she says that she has reaped the rewards of her hard work.

“Working hard in every practice, paying attention to detail, and putting gin time to shoot after practice even when I didn’t feel like it is all things that have helped me become who I am,” she said. “But I woudl say that the work has paid off. We qualified for state in my freshman year in basketball and went to state during my sophomore year. Also, I am really excited because I have committed to play basketball at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.”

Chloe is in her senior year at Anadarko High School. Along with playing basketball and running track, she is also in Leadership and the Native American Club.

As a basketball player, Cantrell says that a former Oral Roberts University basketball player is someone that she looked up to and wanted to model her game after.

“When I was younger, one of my role models was Lakota Beatty,” Chloe said. “She was always so competitive and I liked her refusal to lose. Another one of my role models is my mom because she’s always there to push me to be better at everything. I also have a teacher that made an impact on my life. It was my third grade teacher who was also my grandma. I love being in her class.”

Cantrell says wearing the Anadarko jersey is something that she is proud of and is glad that she is able to do.

“I like representing my school and community,” she says. “I like to think that we are inspiring future Lady Warriors as they watch us play.”

Juggling school work, athletics, and also things outside of school can be tough but Chloe says that priorities are important in make sure things get done.

“Sometimes it can be difficult, but I make sure I am a student athlete and no matter what I put just as much time in the classroom as I do in the gym.”
